Women Deliver Conference 2023

Women Deliver Conference, the largest convening for gender equality in the world, set to take place in Kigali, Rwanda from 17-20 July 2023. Women Deliver convenings catalyze conversations with stakeholders from around the world, breaking barriers, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities to advance gender equality, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), to improve the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women, in all their intersecting identities.

In July 2023, Women Deliver Conference will convene thousands of decision-makers from diverse fields, including civil society, government, the private sector, and international agencies, alongside women’s rights organizations and movements, youth-led and LGBTQIA+ organizations, and advocates representing the intersectional identities of girls, women, and underrepresented populations in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), to identify solutions and drive progress for gender equality.

The new 5 elements for Women Deliver Conference 2023

The Women Deliver 2023 Conference (WD2023) will promote a robust civic space for feminist action, organizing, and mobilization and will be more inclusive, diverse, accessible, and consultative than ever before by introducing the following five new elements.

Accessibility and inclusion will lead the way — in-person and virtually.

We believe that gender equality will only be achieved once all people have equal access to power, dignity, justice, rights, health, and opportunities, including to network, develop skills, share knowledge, access funding opportunities, and participate in conversations that contribute to global agenda setting.

Women Deliver will work in partnership with Regional Convening Partners to maximize global impact.

Regional Convening Partners will mobilize and convene advocates within their region to advance the conversation around gender equality before, during, and after the Conference as part of Women Deliver Conference 2023’s expanded Global Dialogue. As Women Deliver Conference 2023 is a global Conference, it is important for advocates to share progress, exchange ideas, and solicit feedback within their own regional context toward coordinating collective action in line with shared advocacy priorities.

Women Deliver Conference will create dedicated GEF advocacy spaces in order to catalyze the political change, investments, action, and accountability needed to drive progress toward a gender-equal world at WD2023 and beyond.

Specifically, Women Deliver Conference 2023 will prioritize the themes of the GEF Action Coalitions and create spaces for the Alliance for Gender Equality and UHC, the Global Alliance for Care, the Gender Equal Health and Care Workforce Initiative, the SRHR and Climate Justice Coalition, Deliver for Good, and AGIP to build on efforts started at GEF.

Women Deliver will equip advocates with the skills they need to take action — before, during, and after the Conference — via an expanded Global Dialogue.

Over the course of six months prior to Women Deliver Conference 2023, the Global Dialogue will equip advocates around the world with the knowledge and skills they need to address the most pressing challenges to gender equality and SRHR in their own communities, countries, and regions. Using an accessible online platform, advocates will be able to attend virtual sessions hosted by Women Deliver and our partners, network with other advocates around the world, and share information on new research. The platform will provide low-bandwidth options to ensure that all who want to participate are able to.

Partnerships

In partnership with the Adolescent Girls Investment Plan (AGIP), CREA, OutRight Action International, Women Enabled International, the Government of Canada, the Government of Denmark, and the Rockefeller Foundation, Women Deliver is developing an inclusive, diverse, accessible, and consultative Women Deliver Conference 2023 convening that is co-led and co-created. We commit to the goals below in order to ensure that communities traditionally underrepresented in global convenings have access to networking, skills-building, and funding opportunities.

Cost & Participants

In-person registration costs will be based on a sliding scale estimates ranging from USD $500-800 with both full and partial scholarships available. In conjunction with in-person programming, WD2023 will include a virtual conference for which ticket prices may range from USD $50-200.

In-person Conference fees include access to all events, networking sessions, and cover food. In-person Conference fees do not include transportation or accommodation. In addition, reduced-cost tickets will be available for participants from low- and middle-income countries and youth participants.

Women Deliver Conference 2023 will leverage innovative ways to host both 6,000 participants on-site in Kigali and an estimated 200,000 participants virtually through a hybrid convening model. This model aims to enable communities often underrepresented at global convenings to be able to participate meaningfully. Women Deliver will continue to closely monitor the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that the next Conference is safe and accessible, both for those attending in-person and those attending virtually.
